I love to read biographies and auto-biographies. Having just read Journey From Venice by Ruth Cracknell, I am now reading The Happiest Refugee by Anh Do. It's interesting to read about other people's lives and backgrounds, and can be an empathetic exercise too. That's the mark of a good writer-we can imagine ourselves in their shoes. The same can be said of poetry. It's never been out of fashion, but seems to be enjoying a popularity re-surge. Stories are told through the medium of poetry and prose. A favourite movie in my collection is Dead Poet's Society. We can vicariously live other people's existences through their meter and rhyme, or perhaps just indulge ourselves with some fantasy. With that in mind, I have started a Poetry Corner on the Poetry and Prose page on this site. If you have something to offer, share it with me for posting, as long as it isn't crude or offensive in any way.
